Sin City - The City of Entertainment - a place of bright lights and gambling and world class fun that draw over 42 million visitors a Year to enjoy. You can just wander up and down The Strip and gape - or you can invest a bit of time and join a semi-retired history teacher and tour guide who loves to show off his adopted hometown in small intimate groups. This is approximately a 2 hour walking tour.

Get to see the fun, the nooks and crannies the typical tourist never sees - and the stories most people never hear. Come away with a deeper appreciation of how a tourist hotspot grew out of the hot and parched Mojave desert.

And if there is anything in particular you would like to see or to know about? Please let me know. I'll do my best to work it in to your tour.

GO WHERE OTHERS DON'T

The most amazing parts of Las Vegas aren't blazing on the corner. The real cool stuff is in the back and around the corner. I know all the corners.

HEAR THE STORIES OTHERS NEVER HEAR

Las Vegas was not made by casinos, but by men and women, ranchers and mobsters, headliners and lounge lizards, sharps and squares. Their stories will dazzle you.

Worth the Time & Money!

Viator review: Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour

Richard was so lovely and kind to my family and me. We had four boys ( 4 years to 11 Years old), and he took the time to answer any questions we had (especially my nine years old that LOVES history). Richard also gave great recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to dine at while on the strip.

Best Recommendation: Bugsy & Meyer's Steakhouse ( Ask for Terry as the server, so great with Kids!)

Viator review: Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour

Richard, a previous history teacher, was an exceptional tour guide as he had so much history to share about Las Vegas. We went to the Mirage, Caesars Forum, Caesar’s Palace, Bellagio, and ended the tour at the Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan. Chandelier bar is a must see!

It was a full two hours filled with fun facts and history. This tour was great and I highly recommend it.

First Timers--This tour is for you!!!

Viator review: Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour

This was our first trip to Las Vegas and we arrived on Wednesday, however our tour was on Thursday. Since we got in early, I reached out to Richard to see if he had any openings for Wednesday and he was able to accomodate us. With that said, we ended up being the only ones on that tour, so we felt extremely fortunate to get a private tour. We found Richard extremely knowledgeable about Las Vegas and its history. He was very interesting to listen to and tailored the tour to us. He also gave us dining recommendations as well as suggestions on other things to do while we were there. His recommendations were spot on for us. This was the best tour as it helped us become familiar to the city. We highly recommend.

Excellent Tour

Tripadvisor review: Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour

For starters, Richard was incredibly accommodating when our flight was delayed which we so appreciated. He is a wealth of knowledge and this walking tour was a great intro to the strip. It hit some of the more famous casinos and gave a lot of good background info regarding Vegas' past, present, and future.

WHO I AM

As for me I am an ex-US Army guy. When I got out, sheer jealousy made me join my wife as a teacher - she was getting all those eight week summer vacations! Together we taught in Arizona and California and eight wonderful years in Ecuador.

When it was time to turn in my grade book I turned to leading tours. First I worked for an excellent tour company, learning to translate my knowledge of history and geology into small group centered fun trips and always giving my clients the most memorable experience. I struck out on my own three years ago and I strive to give each tour member on every tour a 5-Star experience. As I like to say, with me it is your tour. I am just along to make your tour super special.

WHAT I DO

I primarily do half day and full day tours with Las Vegas as my center of operations. My first love is small group walking tours of the Las Vegas Strip and the Downtown Fremont Street Experience. Close seconds are my intimate private tours to places like Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and many of the other near-to-Vegas wonders, where I can give a quirky historian's side take on some of the great wonders of the world. I am a member in good standing with the Las Vegas Tourist Guide Guild.

Tours capped at 10 people. If you have a larger group, please let me know and I can arrange a completely private tour just for you.

Get to see the fun, the nooks and crannies the typical tourist never sees - and the stories most people never hear. Come away with how a tourist hotspot grew out of the hot and parched Mojave desert.
